For Kemptown Carnival, we had to make, as a group, 12 headdresses/masks and a hobbyhorse on a very limited budget. Recycling was key. I was tasked with making three crows and an aztec/Brazilian inspired god-like thing. For the three crows, I made some prototypes in small scale, before creating a full-scale paper mache crow mask. The feathers are made from inner tire tubes from bicycles, painted with acrylic paint in a thin layer to prevent cracking.
